SchoolNet ("we", "our", or "the app") is a school management and learning platform. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our mobile and web applications.

1. Information We Collect

We collect information necessary to provide the service:

• Account data: Email address, name, profile photo (if you sign in with Google), and role (student, teacher, parent, admin).
• School-related data: Class, subject, assignments, notes, announcements, timetables, and results that you or your school create and store in the app.
• Device identifiers: We use Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM) to send push notifications. A device token is stored to deliver these notifications.
• Usage statistics (Android only): With your consent, we may access app usage statistics to show students their study time within the app. This data stays on your device or is used only for in-app display.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To provide the SchoolNet service (assignments, notes, announcements, results, etc.).
• To send push notifications about assignments and notices.
• To improve the app using anonymized analytics (Firebase Analytics).
• To enforce security and access control based on your role and school.

3. Third-Party Services

We use:

• Google Firebase (Authentication, Firestore, Cloud Messaging, Analytics, Storage) — subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Sign-In — for account creation and login; we receive your email and basic profile as permitted by Google.

4. Data Security

We use industry-standard security (HTTPS, Firebase security rules) to protect your data. Access to school and user data is restricted by role and school membership.

5. Your Choices

You can delete your account from within the app (Profile → Delete account). This removes your user record; school content you created may remain as per your school's policies.

6. Children's Privacy

SchoolNet is used by schools. Student accounts are typically created and managed by teachers or admins. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without appropriate school or parental consent.

7. Changes

We may update this Privacy Policy. We will notify you of material changes via the app or email when appropriate.
